Argentium Silver

What is Argentium Silver?

Argentium Silver, often referred to as the “new silver,” is regarded as the finest sterling silver available today. This “new silver” is highly tarnish resistant. While traditional silver contains 92.5% sterling, Argentium Sterling Silver contains between 93.5% to 96% pure silver. Argentium is also high-white in color, and therefore much brighter than traditional silver. Sterling Silver is actually pale yellow in color, and is often plated in sterling to give it a brighter finish.

Argentium Sterling Silver is highly resistant to tarnishing due to an added metal called germanium. Germanium bonds to oxygen. It creates a barrier against the copper (small amount used), resulting in a chemical reaction that does not allow tarnishing to even begin. Traditional sterling has more copper and does not contain germanium. Therefore Argentium is highly tarnish resistant and easier to keep clean.

To clean, just wipe with a damp cloth containing diluted dishwasher liquid. Never use jewelry or ultrasonic cleaners.

Argentium is considered a Green product. It is made out of recycled silver and is never mined. It is also nickel free.
